Second straight week that the Dallas Cowboys’ defense was taken apart as the Baltimore Ravens ran all over Dallas en route to a 28-25 win. Cowboys now 1-2 on the season and looking for a lot of answers.

Biggest question facing this team is can they get better against the run? I’m not too optimistic considering Baltimore ran the ball 45 times for 274 yards a week after New Orleans ran it 39 times for 190 yards. Ravens have Derrick Henry (151 yards, 2 TD’s), Lamar Jackson (87 yards, 1 TD), and former OSU Cowboy Justice Hill (33 yards), so they’re going to be tough for anyone to stop, but it was embarrassing to watch Dallas try to slow Baltimore down. The run defense has been a concern in Dallas for a few seasons and if the last two games are any indication, this year looks like no exception.

Dallas’ offense hasn’t clicked yet this season either, although the Cowboys made it interesting late with TD’s on their final three drives. Dak Prescott threw for 374 yards and 2 scores, and it was good to have TE Jake Ferguson back, as he caught 6 passes for 95 yards. Ravens blanketed CeeDee Lamb all day, and despite catching 4 passes for 67 yards, Lamb was clearly frustrated on the sideline. Here’s an idea…show up to training camp and work on things that might help you and your offense play better. Just a thought. Dallas is really struggling to run the ball, as they only amassed 51 yards on 16 carries. If the Cowboys can’t produce some sort of balance to keep defenses honest, it could be tough sledding all year long. Dallas has gotten younger on the offensive line, which they needed to do, but they’re off to a rocky start.

Dallas won’t have to wait long to try to get back on track as they visit the New York Giants Thursday at 7:15 on Prime.

Both teams are 1-2 this season with a win over the Browns, a 3 point loss, and a blowout loss. RB Devin Singletary has his 2nd best yards per carry of his career through 3 games, and WR Malik Nabers is off to a good start with 23 catches for 271 yards (5th in the league) and 3 scores. Time for this Dallas defense to show something after being torched the last two weeks. They need to make Daniel Jones‘ life miserable, but the best way to do that is to put the Giants in 3rd and long. Can this defense put opponents in unfavorable 3rd down positions enough? To this point, the answer has been no, and that has to change if the Cowboys are going to return to the playoffs.
