Ahhhh…Week 3 of College Football and to say I LOVE this card is an understatement. I see winners everywhere. Did I think I had winners last week and highly underachieved? Yes. Baylor really screwed me over just like they did in the Big 12 Championship last season. Oh well, it happens. Forget and forgive as good fortune is upon all of us.
With that said, here are my favorite plays of the weekend:
Florida State -3
The Seminoles face off against Louisville Saturday a 6:30pm and I think the ‘Noles are a team that could be a pretty good ACC team this year, which isn’t saying much. I bet against Louisville last weekend and that did not go well but I feel confident in this pick as I think FSU is the better team by more than three points.
BYU +3.5
Want to hear a hot take? BYU is a legit playoff contender this year. If they run the table with their challenging yet winnable schedule they will be in the playoff unless four Power Five teams go undefeated. The Cougars travel to Eugen this weekend to face off against Oregon. Oregon, in my eyes, is always over rated and over hyped. I think the Cougars will go up there and take care of business.
Houston -9
Spinozi and I have been saying all off-season that Kansas will be decent (for Kansas standards) this year and their 2-0 start is as good as we could ask for. HOWEVER, they are still not a team that can hang with everyone. I think Houston will cover against the Jayhawks who is coming off a massive win against West Virginia and might struggle with a bit of a hangover this week.
Texas -12.5
Texas isn’t back, they could be, but probably not. However, I do like them to cover this weekend at home against UTSA, who is a very good team but I think will be out athlete and the crowd in Austin should be pretty fired up as they THINK they’re back. I also may dabble a little with the over at 60.5.
Michigan State +3
Sparty travels to Seattle to go against the Washington Huskies. This is my weekly “I don’t have any reasoning behind this bet” other than Michigan State is ranked No. 11 and given three points to and unranked Washington.
Let’s hope this weekend goes better than last weekend. I feel good about what the board is telling us this week.
