College Football Coverage – Week 8

Oklahoma got back on the winning track Saturday beating Kansas 52-42. The Sooners have a much needed bye week this week before traveling to Ames, Iowa next Saturday October 29th at 11am to take on the Cyclones of Iowa State. This game will be on FS1. Unsportsmanlike Conduct next Saturday starts at 6:30am with Countdown to Kickoff at 8am from Riverwind Casino with Al Eschbach and Jim Traber. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State notes from “The Legend” Al Eschbach

There’s finally laughter in Norman and nothing but tears in Stillwater. Oklahoma football fans are finally smiling again as the Sooners snapped a three game losing streak by beating Kansas. OU will now get this weekend off as it gets ready to play its final five games of the season.

Oklahoma State fans are still trying to get over a stunning loss to TCU in Fort Worth, The Cowboys suffered their first defeat of the season. The setback dropped the Pokes out of the AP top 10. OSU fans are now concerned about Saturday’s game with Texas. It’s a must win for the Pokes if they want to get into the Big 12 title game in December

Oklahoma State lost their first game of the season on Saturday to TCU in overtime 43-40. This week is Homecoming in Stillwater with the 20th ranked Texas Longhorns traveling up I-35 to take on the 11th ranked Cowboys at Boone Pickens Stadium at 2:30pm nationally televised on ABC.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys seek to bounce back with a victory against the Texas Longhorns this Saturday.

The Cowboys dropped to 5-1 after surrendering a 17-point lead and a late two touchdown advantage against still undefeated TCU 43-40 in double overtime.

Head Coach Mike Gundy felt his team’s running game wasn’t completely effective, stating, “We just weren’t very physical and we just couldn’t get into a rhythm running the ball. We’ve just got to keep doing the same stuff we’re doing and continue to improve.”

The Cowboys host the 5-2 Longhorns, who most oddsmakers consider more than just a slight favorite against OSU. Texas is coming off of a last minute victory in Austin over Iowa State last week. Gundy considered Texas receiver Xavier Worthy a player of focus for his defense. “He’s dynamic, and is a threat wherever he is. He can do a lot of things.”

Oklahoma State’s game against Texas will kick off at 2:30 P.M. Saturday and can be viewed on ABC.
