I love this team. Oh my God I love this team. From day one, I have been convinced this team is too good to tank for Victor Wembanyama. Besides, who needs a Wembanyama when you have a Poku?
The difference between the Thunder and the teams that are tanking is quite simple: they don’t have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Thunder do and man... has he started off to one helluva season, averaging 31.5 PPG. I saw a stat last night while watching the game that read: in five of the six games the Thunder have played in- Shai has scored 25+ in the paint. That’s Allen Iverson level of stuff.

For all my gambling brethren out there- the Thunder are beating the absolute you know what out of Vegas. Through seven games the Thunder are 6-1 in covering. 5-1 as ‘dogs and 1-0 as favorites. This team is highly doubted and I think it is time for them to prove some of the haters wrong. https://twitter.com/TylersTakes/status/1587631755531636737?s=20&t=F8RIhNFm0EcMACy5hebrRw
I am so glad competitive basketball is back in Oklahoma City. It has been a rough past two seasons with tanking, injuries, Covid and all the rest that went on. But, there is light at the end of the tunnel now. I am not saying this team is a playoff team- but one thing I can guarantee you: if they are healthy they have a shot to fight for a postseason spot until the end of the season (I am counting the play-in).
Maybe I am over-reacting. Only time will tell. But for now, basketball is back in one of the most under-rated basketball cities in America. This team is so fun to watch, and if you are not watching them you are seriously missing out on such great entertainment.
This Thunder team is the second youngest team in NBA HISTORY. The youngest team? The 2021-22 Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma, it's time to Thunder Up again. Let’s go win us a play-in game.
